Threat-Op uses ClamAV as its scanning engine. ClamAV is an open source project maintained by Cisco/Talos. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of ClamAV's virus definitions. ClamAV's own license terms apply to that component.
Global threat intelligence data is sourced from AlienVault Open Threat Exchange (OTX). This data is provided for informational purposes only. We make no representation as to the accuracy or completeness of OTX data. AlienVault's own terms apply to their service.
When you upload a file for scanning via threatop.io:

The quarantine feature moves files to a locked folder. While we take care to implement this safely, we are not responsible for any data loss resulting from quarantine operations. Always maintain backups of important files. If a file is incorrectly identified as a threat (false positive), you can restore it from the quarantine folder.
The Threat-Op source code is released under the MIT License. Commercial use may require a separate commercial license. See the LICENSE file in the GitHub repository for details.
